Krakow - Old Synagogue (Kazimierz)
Day 1  Warsaw
Warszawa - Old Town
Arrival. Private transfer to the hotel. Time at leisure. Dinner at the hotel restaurant
Day 2  Warsaw (City Tour)
Warsaw - Palace of Culture and Science
Highlights of your tour include: former Ghetto area,
Memory Lane from the Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto to
Transportation Square. (Umschlagplatz), visiting the Jewish cemetery at
Okopowa Street – the most valuable monument of Jewish culture in Warsaw,
Nozyk Synagogue, the Jewish Historical Institute and Museum, Royal
Castle, former residence of Polish Kings , Old Town Quarter, Old Market
Square, documentary movie in Historical Museum, the Barbican and
medieval defence walls, visit to Lazienki Palace, private residence of
Polish King and its evocative sculpture of Chopin surrounded by rose
bushes. View from the highest floor of Palace of Culture and Science (
gift from Stalin).
Day 3  Warsaw - Cracow (Old City)
Krakow - Main Market Square (Rynek)
After breakfast private transfer hotel - train station , departure for Cracow. transfer train station – hotel. After
check-in and lunch half day Cracow Old City walking tour. Sightseeing
including: Wawel Royal Cathedral - for centuries a burial place of
Polish kings (entrance), Market Square with Renaissance Cloth Hall with
numerous souvenir, Gothic St.Mary’s Basilica, Collegium Maius, the
oldest College of Jagiellonian University, founded in 1364 year.
Day 4  Cracow - Kazimierz - Oswiecim - Cracow
Auschwitz - Birkenau Museum
Morning: Kazimierz Cracovian Jewish District &
Podgorze - former Ghetto area. Transfer from the hotel, then a walk
through the cosy lanes of Kazimierz allows us to move backwards to
another époque and with some imagination you can see the town as
described in the Isaac B. Singer's books. On the way we will pass two
synagogues - Tempel and Isaac, which are, without doubt, the prettiest
on Kazimierz. Visit the famous Remuh Synagogue (entrance), named after
the great Cracovian rabbi and scholar Moses Isserles; Remuh Cemetery,
which was in use from 1551 till 1800. The atmosphere of the old times
can be re-found in the local restaurants and cafes, which offer
delicious dishes and drinks of the traditional Jewish cuisine,
accompanied by charming music which only here sounds so special. Then
drive to Oswiecim/ Auschwitz and visit of former KL Auschwitz -
Birkenau. The death camp known as Konzentrations Lager
Auschwitz-Birkenau was in fact the biggest Nazi death factory and it is
the largest cemetery in the world (local guide & documentary movie)
Return to the hotel in the nlate afternoon.
Day 5  Cracow - Tarnow - Bobowa - Nowy Sacz - Cracow
Bobowa - Synagogue
Departure after breakfast. First stop in Tarnow (Tarnow
Market Square, Bimah, former Jewish District). Then visit of Bobowa
synagogue and cemetery with grave of the famous tsaddik Halberstam
(Bobowa Hasidim). En return route via picturesque beskidy landscapes
visit of Nowy Sacz ( Old Synagogue).
Day 6  Cracow
Breakfast. Private transfer hotel - airport or train station. |
