This tour will take us to the former Warsaw Ghetto.
Follow Memory Lane from the Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto
to Transportation Square ( Umschlagplatz ) including stop at the
Memorial of Mila 18, headquarters of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the
memory place of Pawiak. You will visit Okopowa Street Jewish Cemetery -
one of the largest Jewish Cemeteries Cemetery, the most valuable
monument of Jewish culture in Warsaw as well as Nozyk Synagogue founded
in 1902 by Zalman Nozyk and his wife. As Warsaw comes to terms with its
Jewish heritage, the city is embarking on projects of remembra nce.
There are plans to build the Museum of the Polish Jews' History next to
The Monument to the Ghetto Heroes, and to restore the nineteenth-century
apartment houses on Prozna Street to try to recreate the atmosphere of
the pre-war Jewish neighbourhood.
