Kraków - Christmas Carol Singers Parade
Day 1 - Dec. 22nd  Cracow - Wieliczka - Cracow
Wieliczka - Salt Mine
Group's arrival to Cracow, meeting your guide at the
Balice Airport and transfer to the hotel. Welcome cocktail and check-in.
In the afternoon we visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, the oldest working
salt mine in Europe ! You will be transferred by elevator 120 metres
below ground, seeing marvellous chapels and sculptures made out of salt
throughout the Centuries. You will admire the underground world of salt
lakes, galleries, stairs, altars and chambers all carved in salt by many
generations of Polish miners, not artists. You will pass through 20
fascinating chambers. The Chapel of St. Kinga – a great chamber like a
big church – with a splendid collection of sculptures and bas-reliefs
makes this place terrific ! Don’t forget to see the amazing carving of
the Last Supper. Please note – everything is made from the salt or in
the salt. The tourists can see only 2 % of the whole mine, only 3.5 km
of underground routes from more that 200 km. The tourist route takes
about 2 hours. Dinner with folklore music in a traditional Polish
restaurant.

Day 2 - Dec. 23rd  Cracow - Oswiecim - Cracow
Auschwitz - Birkenau Museum
Departure for the site of Auschwitz-Birkenau
concentration camp and Memorial Museum. The death camp known as
Konzentrations Lager Auschwitz-Birkenau was in fact the biggest Nazi
death factory and it is the largest cemetery in the world. Brzezinka
camp is terrifying in its size. Here the tracks were ending … what was
equivalent to the end of life for most people. To them the great
monument is dedicated. Lunch en route. Return via Wadowice – visit to
the Holy Father’s House. It has since been turned into a shrine-like
museum. We will also visit the church he attended and where he was
baptized as a child. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 - Dec. 24th  Cracow
Krakow - Christmas Crib (Szopka) Kraków - Hand Made Christmas Ornaments
After breakfast sightseeing of Cracow including: Wawel
Hill, Royal Cathedral - for centuries a burial place of Polish kings,
Market Square with Renaissance Cloth Hall with numerous souvenir, Gothic
St.Mary’s Basilica, Collegium Maius - the oldest college of
Jagiellonian University, founded in 1364 year, Historical Museum where
tourist can admire exhibition of traditional hand-made cribs. The
exhibition presents those cribs, which take part in an annual contest.
Afternoon at leisure - shopping on Christmas Market situated on the Main
Market Square. Possibility to see unique live Christmas crib which
presents scenes of the Holy Family life. It takes place in the courtyard
of Franciscan church. Traditional Polish Christmas Eve Dinner,
accompanied by Polish Christmas carols and small presents.
Option:
Midnight Mass in St. Mary's Church or in Wawel Cathedral Christmas Food
The traditional Christmas Eve supper consists of twelve dishes
representing the twelve months of the year. No meat is served during the
supper, only fish, usually herring, carp or pike. Other traditional
dishes appearing on the table include red borscht, mushroom or fish
soup, sauerkraut with wild mushrooms or peas, dried fruit compote and
kutia, a dessert especially popular in eastern Poland. Boiled or fried
pierogis, Polish dumplings with a wide variety of fillings, are among
the most popular Polish dishes. For the Christmas Eve supper, pierogis
are usually made with sauerkraut and mushrooms.

Day 4 – Dec. 25th  Cracow - Zakopane - Cracow
Zakopane - Jaszczurówka
Full day excursion to Zakopane. Zakopane is known as a
capital of winter sports and mountain tourism. It is, as well, the
centre of the Highlanders culture. They cultivate their tradition, which
reflects in their folk costume, traditional wooden architecture, glass
paintings, etc. Sightseeing of the oldest part of town, cable lift onto
Gubalowka hill, shopping, kulig sleigh ride, bonfire barbecue with
Highlanders' tea (tea laced with vodka), accompanied by Highland folk
music. Return via Chocholow to the hotel in Cracow in the evening,

Day 5 - Dec. 26th  Cracow
Early breakfast. Departure.
